AAA car insurance is available to members and usually represents good value. Whether it is worth joining just to get the insurance is debatable but the coverage they provide is generally well regarded. The biggest advantage of AAA car insurance is that you can take advantage of their roadside assistance. If your car breaks down, has a flat tire, or runs out of fuel they will send somebody out to help you. They will also send out a locksmith if you lock your keys in your car. If you had to pay for this service the price could be quite high so this is definitely a major benefit. The fact that AAA is such a large organization means that no matter where in the country you need roadside assistance they will be able to help you. Again this can be a huge benefit because in a lot of areas there will be no other way to get assistance.

AAA car insurance offers all of the insurance coverage that you would expect from any other insurance provider. They provide the mandatory liability coverage as well as a number of optional features. Things like uninsured motorist coverage which will cover you if you are involved in an accident with somebody who doesn't have the insurance he is required to have and personal injury coverage are things that almost all drivers should have. The chances of being injured by somebody without insurance are not worth the risk of not having coverage. Collision and comprehensive insurance will make sure that you are covered in the event that your car gets damaged or stolen. Whether you need this coverage is up to you and is going to depend in large part on the value of your car. If you have a brand new car you are probably going to want it. The main disadvantage of AAA car insurance is that in order to get it you need to be a member of AAA. This is going to cost you about a hundred dollars a year so it will significantly increase the cost of your insurance. Of course if you are already a member this won't be an issue. There are good reasons to be a member of AAA but joining just to get the insurance really isn't worthwhile. If you decide the benefits of membership are worth the cost it could be a good idea, otherwise you are probably better off getting your insurance someplace else.
